Traditional style of net primarily used in fly fishing, may also be used for decorative purposes.
Design innovations include a laminated Cedar frame for strength and light weight. The grip, flat and wider than usually seen, provides better control and feel for positioning the net when the users concentration must be on the quarry.
While the inserts of Cherry, Mahogany, Redwood, or Pine are essentially decorative, they do provide a more secure base for the solid brass ring and any additional hardware used in attaching the net. Because wood is a natural material minor imperfections are expected, and whereas they have no effect on the integrity of the net, I have allowed them to add interest and individuality to each net.
The mesh is hand-tied with specially treated nylon cord. Nylon is far superior to other net materials with respect to durability and non-snagging characteristics. The nets are flexible when wet and become softer after use.
The oil based satin finish is water repellent, but prolonged soaking is not recommended. I have had satisfactory use of the original net for many years and I am confident that they perform well with minimal care.
In the event any of these nets should fail under the weight of a trout you are attempting to land, please give me a call - I'd like to know where you are fishing!
